The Assignment provides support to the Moroccan delegation in UNFCCC negotiation processes related to climate finance. The Contractor will advise the delegation in strengthening Morocco’s visibility and defining national priorities at COP29 through drafting finance-related language elements, participating in climate finance events, preparing summaries and discussion points, accompanying the delegation to bilateral meetings, and developing thematic notes on the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) on Climate Finance and the Loss and Damage Fund. The Contractor will also assist Morocco in positioning itself within the African and Arab Negotiation Groups.

The Subcontractor will contribute to developing thematic notes, participate in daily coordination meetings with the Moroccan delegation during COP29, accompany the delegation to bilateral meetings, follow key climate finance events, and provide expert input on climate finance issues and related language elements.

Deliverables include thematic notes on NCQG and the Loss and Damage Fund, daily coordination meetings with the delegation during COP29, finance-focused language elements reflecting Morocco’s position, summaries and advice on key climate finance events, and support during bilateral meetings with financial institutions, donor countries, and international climate finance bodies.
