The consultancy leads the implementation of a needs assessment to strategically inform the drafting of the RCC Strategy (2026–2029), ensuring that the focus of RCCs’ work effectively addresses identified local needs. The final output is the RCC Strategy (2026–2029), defining the RCC’s support offer to countries and entities, with an emphasis on high value-added assistance and prioritized areas of work that respond to national and regional priorities in close collaboration with partners.

The assessment results will guide the RCCs’ future work, including potential adjustments to their scope, types of support to developing countries, work priorities, business model, and geographical presence. Furthermore, the exercise will create new opportunities for engagement and collaboration with countries and regional partners such as the UN system, multilateral development banks, regional centers and networks, the private sector, philanthropies, and local governments, complementing existing support provided by other entities.
